Borderlands is the multi award winning game franchise from 2K Games. For the launch of the much anticipated third game in the series 2K Games wanted to make a lasting impact.
Bud Studio in collaboration with Loading Bar conceptualised painting the cover artwork onto the side of the gaming bar, creating a lasting advert with direct contact to 2K Games target audience.
We adapted the cover artwork in studio producing a piece that worked with the exterior of the bar.
The ‘Bandit’ character took pride of place on the right hand side with the rest of the bar being wrapped in the rose and sky design seen on the cover art.
Media company Double Jump filmed the painting of the bar which reached 600k views on Twitter within a week. The result of the project was a lasting advert and media asset that helped launch the game with a bang.
